For children, young adults and adults

I have over 30 years experience teaching and playing professionally. I  cater to the specific individual whether it be Jazz, Blues to Classical and beyond.

I have helped many of my students into world famous music programs including Trinity, Royal Academy, Royal Welsh, Leeds School Of Music and Chethams School Of Music.

I am one of Headwind‘s recommended saxophone teachers and I work closely with them to arrange equipment for my students when needed.

Teaching methods and experience

Saxophone lessons for children and young adults

I specialise in Jazz improvisation, theory and performance. I have taken students through grades one to eight in Trinity, Guildhall and ABRSM examinations – and all at Merit or above!

Having taught at university level (Bath Spa University, Exeter University etc) I understand the university audition process, knowing what major institutions expect from those students looking to further their musical education at the highest level.

I also teach children and young adults that are simply curious about the saxophone and would like to give it a try without planning on completing any grades. There is no pressure there!

I have an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Saxophone lessons for adults

I have vast experience teaching adults. I teach adults from beginner level to professional saxophone players.

An introductory lesson will help decide the appropriate level and frequency of any future lessons.

Adult students tend to choose any frequency from once a week to once a month. I am flexible and will work with you to find the right approach to your lessons.
