Craig is a fantastic teacher and an absolutely wonderful saxophonist. He has been teaching our daughter for about 2 years since she was 7. She was desperate to play sax and Craig has nurtured her enthusiasm. He recently helped her pass grade 1 with distinction, even supporting her to compose and perform her own piece as part of the exam. One of the best things about Craig’s approach is his ability to understand when younger players may need to take breaks, or to try something different to help them keep their attention and focus. He is always positive, encouraging and playful and our daughter loves her lessons. I highly recommend Craig to any parents looking for a teacher for their children - or for themselves!

My son, aged 13, started saxophone lessons with Craig during lockdown 2020. He came to the saxophone as a clarinettist - Craig was quick to spot my son’s natural flair for the instrument and has really helped him to progress at an impressive rate. He has just passed his grade 6 jazz saxophone with 96/100 and has achieved over 90% in all of the saxophone grades he has entered. These results are testimony to Craig’s inspiring and energetic approach in lessons. My son absolutely loves playing the saxophone and has had his eyes opened by Craig to an amazing repertoire of music.

Anyone who knows him would say the same. He brings energy and passion for music to every session. Through lockdown we had a hard time (like so many) and he was there for my daughter throughout. He's been her teacher for 8 years! That's commitment. Here is an early photo of Craig on stage at a BLOWOUT gig with many of his students years ago and another from maybe a year ago with my daughter having a lesson. We tried a few teachers before we found him because music is a big part of our lives, conducted quite a lot of research. I'm pretty confident in saying he's the best in the area. Go Craig! Well you were a flute player to start with so I had something to work with haha! Great to see you progress over the last few years into a proper professional gigging horn player ! There’s so much I could write about Craig he has not just been a teacher to my son for 10 years, but a friend and mentor. At times when my son had confidence issues Craig’s patients, caring nature and belief in his ability carried him through and by the time he was 16 passed his grade 8 with Merit. Craig made every exam entry so easy by submitting the forms, preparing and supporting. Craig has had regular contact with my sons music teacher at school keeping them up to date. Craig also makes loads of effort arranging gigs for fun for his students in his own time! so it’s not all lessons the students get real performance time. My son is having and enjoying his lessons with Craig.
