For children, young adults and adults

I have over 20 years experience teaching and playing professionally. I  cater to the specific individual whether it be Jazz, Blues to Classical and beyond.

I have helped many of my students into world famous music programs including Trinity, Royal Academy, Royal Welsh, Leeds School Of Music and Chethams School Of Music.

I am one of Headwind‘s recommended saxophone teachers and I work closely with them to arrange equipment for my students when needed.

Booking a lesson

Lessons take place in either Alma Vale Studios, Bristol, or at the Southside Youth Hub, Bath and cost £40 per lesson. Student discount is available.

Both these locations have been made Covid-secure. When allowed, I’ll continue to provide Covid-secure face to face lessons. Prior to lessons, I will provide students with a statement of steps I’m taking to keep them safe.

I have decided to start offering lessons online. See my new online saxophone lessons page for more information.

You won’t need any equipment to start off. I can provide a saxophone for our first lesson and after I will help you find an appropriate saxophone for you from as little as £250.

For more information, or to book a lesson, please use the contact form.

In exceptional cases I may be able to go to your home for a lesson, for an additional cost.

Please be aware that lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before the lesson will be charged a full fee.

Saxophone lessons for children and young adults

I specialise in Jazz improvisation, theory and performance. I have taken students through grades one to eight in Trinity, Guildhall and ABRSM examinations – and all at Merit or above!

Having taught at university level (Bath Spa University, Exeter University etc) I understand the university audition process, knowing what major institutions expect from those students looking to further their musical education at the highest level.

I also teach children and young adults that are simply curious about the saxophone and would like to give it a try without planning on completing any grades. There is no pressure there!

I have an Enhanced DBS certificate.

He has not just been a teacher to my son for 10 years but a friend and mentor.

Craig made every exam entry so easy by submitting the forms, preparing and supporting.

Opened a whole new world of music to me

He has seen me grow personally and musically, and has guided me through for these years, from timid novice to a well-rounded confident young musician.

He taught loads of important lessons on jazz

Before I had lessons with Craig I questioned going to a university but he made me think twice, so I applied to Trinity College of Music.

Saxophone lessons for adults

I have vast experience teaching adults. I teach adults from beginner level to professional saxophone players.

An introductory lesson will help decide the appropriate level and frequency of any future lessons.

Adult students tend to choose any frequency from once a week to once a month. I am flexible and will work with you to find the right approach to your lessons.

Very good impression from the first lesson

“Very good impression from the first lesson. I have already been playing for a while (9 years) and wanted now
